Carly’s Room

Our fifth bedroom was done for a little six year old girl named Carly. Carly was diagnosed at birth with Arthrogryposis, a muscle disorder that causes multiple joint contractures. A contracture is a limitation in the range of motion in a joint. Carly was also born with severe scoliosis. Which she has had multiple surgeries and has to endure many more. Carly learned to walk at the age of five after a titanium rod was implanted into her rib cage.

Carly wanted a Princess Bedroom, like all little girls do. Project Nightlights created a magical bedroom for "Princess Carly." Her walls were painted a princess pink. Custom bedding and matching window treatment were hand made. New carpet was cut & bound to fit Carly's bedroom. Carly's favorite addition was the hand-painted custom mural & mirror next to her bed. All new bedroom furniture was purchase for Carly's room. The new mirrored closet doors and custom built closet allows Carly to pick out her closes with minimal help. A set of steps were place next to her bed so Carly can walk up with some assistance & sit on her bed. A room fit for not just any princess, but "Princess Carly."
