David’s Room
David is a great kid that has endured more than any 10 year old should. Four years ago, he bravely battled Leukemia. At the end of his treatment, David’s father was killed in a car accident one morning on the way to work. It was a sad and sudden tragedy for David and his family to deal with during a time that should have been filled with joy and optimism. David is now in remission but still has to cope with the aftermath of cancer and its treatment. He also terribly misses his father ever single day.
Project Nightlights created a camping and forest themed room for David and his brother Josh because David fondly recalls spending time with his Dad on camping trips. The room had plenty of little critters painted on the walls and the beds were set under a canopy of painted trees. We hope David’s room provides for him a room to feel safe, strong and hopeful.
